At the heart of Brushwood Press is a desire to ignite a deeper love for truth in the hearts of believers through sound doctrine, powerful storytelling, and creative discipleship tools. Founded by Justin Reed, Brushwood Press operates in partnership with and under the spiritual covering of Woodlawn Church of Paducah, a Cumberland Presbyterian Church where faith, family, and biblical fidelity are at the core of everything we do.
Justin serves as the CFO of Brushwood Press, but his journey here has been anything but ordinary. A devoted husband to Vina Reed, proud father of seven, and joyful grandfather to six, Justin’s life has been a tapestry of hard work, redemption, and relentless passion for truth. Over the past two decades, he’s built a career in technology and cybersecurity, founding Micro-IT, a nationwide provider of IT solutions. But behind the tech expertise lies an even deeper calling—to teach, write, and disciple.
As an author, songwriter, musician, and Bible teacher, Justin has spent years pouring into the next generation, helping them understand the depth of God’s grace and the consistency of the truth. Justin's theology is rooted in the rich soil of Reformed doctrine, aligning with the Westminster Confession of Faith, and his approach balances clarity with conviction, intellect with compassion.
Brushwood Press was born out of that same conviction. What began as a platform for writing and resource development has now grown into a full-fledged ministry initiative. One of its flagship projects, Brushfires, equips churches and small groups with lessons focused on the 10 Core Doctrines, crafted to spark meaningful conversation, deeper discipleship, and a revived witness in the world.
We believe theology is not just for scholars—it’s for everyone. And through Bible studies, training curriculum, small group resources, and worshipful writing, we hope to awaken the church to the beauty of sound doctrine and the freedom it brings.
