UNWORTHINESS
When Grace Feels Too Good to Be True

God loved you at your worst
—not your best.

“But God proves His own love
for us in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.”
– Romans 5:8

You didn’t earn this
—you were chosen and adopted.

“He chose us in Him,
before the foundation of the world…
He predestined us to be adopted as sons
through Jesus Christ for Himself.”
– Ephesians 1:4–5

Grace isn’t about your worth
—it’s about His goodness.

“The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in faithful love.”
– Psalm 103:8

A Message for the Overwhelmed:
Sometimes, it hits you out of nowhere. The kindness. The forgiveness. The undeserved blessing. You look at your life, your past, your failures—and you feel undone by grace.
“Why me, Lord?”
“I’m not worthy of this.”
And you’re not wrong. You’re not worthy. But that’s the beauty of it. Grace isn’t for the worthy—it’s for the willing. For the broken. For the empty. For the ones who know they need a Savior.
Peter fell to his knees when Jesus showed Him undeserved kindness. David cried out, “Who am I, Lord?” The prodigal couldn’t believe the Father still ran to him.
If you feel unworthy, you’re in good company. That’s where worship begins. That’s where pride dies. That’s where awe is born.
Don’t run from this feeling. Let it fuel your praise. Let it remind you that God’s love is deeper than your sin and His purposes are greater than your past.
You weren’t saved because you’re good. You’re saved because He is.

Prayer:
God, I don’t understand why You’ve been so kind to me.
I know I don’t deserve it—yet You keep pouring out mercy.
Let this feeling of unworthiness lead me to worship, not shame.
Teach me to live humbly, gratefully, and joyfully in Your grace.
You are so good.
Amen.

For Deeper Reflection: Doctrinal Foundations
Sovereign Grace – Unconditional Election
You were chosen in love before you lifted a finger. Grace was never about deserving—it was about delighting in God’s will.
Your right standing with God was gifted, not earned. There is no boasting—only worship.
The Glory of God as the Chief End
Your unworthiness becomes the stage where His glory shines brightest. Your weakness exalts His goodness.
